Waitlist & Admission Policy

  • Current Status:

    • All AFS grades are currently at full capacity.

    • All new applicants will be placed on a waitlist.

  • Important Notices:

    • Waitlist form submission does NOT guarantee admission to AFS.

    • A one-time, non-refundable $75 waitlist fee is required to secure a position on the waitlist.

    • If a spot is unavailable in the year of application, the student’s application will automatically carry over to the waitlist for future years at no extra charge.

    • Students will only be registered into their respective grade based on their year of birth (according to the Ontario Ministry system).

    • AFS offers a single section per grade, with a maximum capacity of 26 students.

  • Waitlist Form Submission:

Interested parents are required to complete and submit the Waitlist Form

Our waitlist operates with the following priority structure:

    • Staff child

    • Sibling of a current student

    • Re-Registration

    • New student

  • Notification of Available Spot:

Parents will be notified sequentially when a spot becomes available for the requested grade level. AFS administration will call the parent(s) or guardian, and if the call is not answered, voicemail will be left, followed by an email notification. Declining the offered spot or failure to respond within 3 business days will result in the removal of the child's application from the waitlist. If a spot becomes available for one sibling, then the other sibling(s) will become priority in the same year. AFS does not guarantee that all siblings will be admitted at the same time.

  • Interview and Entrance Test:

    • For Grade 1-8 students, an entrance assessment will be scheduled to assess grade level academic readiness.

Once a completed application is submitted and meets the minimum requirements, the prospective student will be scheduled for an entrance assessment. This assessment evaluates basic reading and mathematics skills appropriate for the student's grade level. The results will be reviewed, and you will receive an email regarding the next steps within 2 business days.

  • Offer of Admission:
Based on the results of the interview and/or entrance assessment, an offer of admission will be extended to the student.

  • Submission of Admission Form and Documents:

Parents will have 3 business days to submit the admission form along with all required documents as outlined in the offer letter. Failure to do so would result in the spot offered to the next student on the waitlist.

  • Document Verification:
All submitted documents will be thoroughly verified to ensure accuracy and completeness.

  • Confirmation of Registration:

Once the documents are verified, parents will receive an email confirming that the child has been officially registered at Al-Falah School. Failure to fulfill the financial requirements within 3 business days will result in the spot being offered to the next student on the waitlist.
